I was born to be loved ❤️

Pc- Unsplash, pexel

It flourishes in emotions, transcending physical proximities
It proliferates like light, absorbed in the dense nub of the soul
Invisible, invincible, it has incandescent warmth
Doors can’t block it
Heights don’t scare it
Blockages can’t protrude it
Viciousness can’t diffuse it
Borders can’t contradict it
Darkness can’t dwindle it
Morn to night, it etches concrete something
Unbounded, it just flows
Like ether, pervasive….
Ebbing and flowing from the heartbeats
That’s love!! That is what love is!!
Evocative, Ubiquitous, amorphous
Love that pervades all
Under its velvety quintessence.
So why not let me enamor myself in this subliminal love
Wear it like divine faith
And let me accept,myself
In all my glory and grandeur.
Let me weave my temporal layers with glittering laces of love
And shine in its ecstasy
So what if i have incapabilities?
So what if I have a darkness of failures?
So what if I’ve been scared to trace my shadows
I’m contemplating and evolving……
Let me resurface my incompetences
Bring forth my unpleasantries
And now love myself with renewed ethos
Love myself with the love I have been splurging
On others for the sake of love
For the sake of acceptance.
How exemplary this liberation is
Freedom from pretensions and facade
And basking in your temperaments
Without delusions and derogations.
Love is ceaseless, seamless
And Love We all deserve , unabashed… wholesome
Inspite of all our shortcomings.
I rendered it wholeheartedly on me
No I wasn’t selfish or guilty
No I wasn’t egoistic nor a narcissist
I looked at myself and loved
My experiences, my fancies
My muse, my affinities
My shortcomings, my failures
My indulgences, my vanities
And love made me believe
I was born to be real not perfect
I was born to be myself and be loved
Immensely, unapologetically,
relentlessly …..unconditionally!!

Self love is the most corrugated idea of love and has been slandered for being selfish and guilty. But the truth is that self love is the focal point of any love theory or thesis. We hide our weaknesses or unpleasant shades from the world and put up a facade for pleasing ourselves or others. But this darkness is misleading, and rather should be groped in, because in it lies your strength. Your real self, your awareness, your acceptance is your power, your prerogative and your freedom. The mind reigns supreme and heart shines when the shadows of self doubt melt away. So indulge in self love because that is the point from where the magic begins!

This blog post is a part of the Petals of Love Blog Hop hosted by Swarnali Nath. We’re a bunch of 30 writers across the globe, coming to you with 30 different pieces on Love. In the month of February, we will be celebrating different colours of love, together in our own ways.

  1. I love how empowering this is. And the theme of self love is so important in this era. I too had my post published today and I discussed the value of self love in it too.

  4. You’re so right! Self-love is often painted in a negative light but wouldn’t anyone who loves himself give it away better to others as well? I’m a huge advocate of it. Lovely lines that make this beautiful emotion stand out.

    1. Thankyou so much Varsha for the support and encouragement. Definitely charity begins at home and love originates from within. So why not consume that sunshine first and then project it outwards. That will lead to everlasting harmony🥰

How beautiful and true is that. Loved the way you tarted with love and then combined it with self-love. I agree, self-love should be n the top of our list. When we love ourself, then only we can spread love.

  8. The significance of Self-Love is essential as oxygen to be alive. You have beautifully weaved it through the prose. Unfortunately, very few can identify the difference between self-love and be selfish.

  9. Honestly speaking, I don’t have appropriate words in praise of this magnificent piece, Daisy. Self-love is such an empowering thought and your exquisitely carved words have strengthened the essence of this beautiful concept even more.
Yes, why should we strive to be perfect? Why not fall in love with the real- us? We were born to be loved and we WILL keep showering the unconditional love on ourselves forever and ever.
Thank you, thank you so much for sharing this soulful piece with us!!

  11. What a beautiful write-up Daisy! By reading this poem, the reader is transported to a world, which is almost equivalent to being in trance by listening to Sufi Music.
Self Love is also the need of the hour, as we all tend to seek approval, appreciation and validation from others in all the aspects of our life.
