Revolution # writephoto

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a solitary figure on a rocky ledge, holding a staff and silhouetted against a pale sky

I set off alone towards my goal

But People kept joining me and the caravan was formed

I started with an intention, and it became a motto

I started with a speck and it became an indestructible spirit

I started with a Hope, and it became a determination

I started with a passion, and it became a revolution

Now it’s not a mob walking together

It’s ethos of a community

United with a direction, manifested as an entity

Standing for one vision, one purpose

This uprising and uproar is now

beyond me, unstoppable

Beyond anything or anyone.

This will continue to grow and swell

With vigor and pace

Till it reaches each of the ignited minds

perpetuating through the deep crevices of anonymous layers

Reaching Every Caste, creed, color

And Stimulating nerves alike.

Sparking cracks with awakening

Of a mutiny.

Now this is unrelenting

With me or without me!!

This poem is inspired by the following lines of Shri Majrooh Sultanpuri who was one of Indian cinemas most renowned and celebrated lyricist and sing writer.

“मैं अकेला ही चला था जानिब-ए-मंज़िल मगर
लोग साथ आते गए और कारवाँ बनता गया”

Translation:- I set off alone towards my goal but People kept joining me and the caravan was formed. It echoes with the thought that if you have rage and intention to bring upon a revolution, start walking with grit determination alone. Soon you will have followers who believe in change and have the same fire as you, and a mutiny will shape up.

    1. That’s true!! A March in peace, a protest of non violence for a greater cause, can also bring about a change. Resorting to violence isn’t always the only solution .
