We will overcome Covid!

The world has come to a languishing standstill

The pandemics ghastliness has weaved a grotesque labyrinth

The maliciousness is tenacious and treacherous

That mutates each sorrow and loss!

I complained of lockdown till I saw the miserliness of those plagued

I was complaining of being homelocked till I saw the ones bereaved

I complained that I couldn’t venture out

Till I saw the son who couldn’t be with his ailing father at his last!

I complained of work from home, till I saw employees being laid off on forlough

A life left bereft of happiness

And told to be lived in agonizing pain

Without your own people

Without your securities!!

The marauding coronavirus,

With spiteful jaws

Has crushed life to death and hope to despair

Emotionally distraught we cry in suffering!

No !! I will persevere and persist

The acute pain is contemplating me

“ when the going gets tough, the tough gets going “

I reverberate with the analogy !

I will make this grinding halt transient

The aspirations hike north

I’m not alone,

I will convert the widespread casualty into a reform !

A revolution to reckon

Against the racing virus attack

Life will remonstrate

Shedding it’s diffidence !

Hope will catch the ripples of affirmations

Reengaging life’s benevolence!

No matter how horrid

Corona has taught me the life’s greatest lessons !

Resettling priorities and reconfiguring health

Reasserting relationships with munificence

My reiterating positivity will sail me through

Tough times don’t last, but tough people do!!

The earth will heal again

Health and humanity will beam

I will shine in my dalliance with hope

Contentment will return in the scheme of life !!

PS: Posted as part of 8 days poetic marathon #PeetMeNotLeave. My gratitude to Award winning poetess Ellora Mishra for tagging me!

I write whenever ideas crunch and overwhelme me! It's my reaction outpour.
